The Town of Westport, MA invites sealed bids from qualified Contractors for specific work to re-roof the Town Hall Garage Roof building located at 816 Main Road, Westport, MA 02790. Bidders are advised that the Town of Westport is exempt from payment of the Massachusetts Sales Tax. Therefore, bidders shall make no allowance for said sales tax in the price bids SCOPE OF WORK 1.Experienced contractor shall supply all labor, equipment and materials necessary for new roof at this location. 2.Strip the entire roof of all shingles and properly dispose of all debris to off site. If necessary, removal of any required equipment. Gutters and downspouts are to remain intact and shall not be replaced. Underlayment: Install GAF Versa Shield Roof Underlayment or equal on all areas of roof (felt paper not considered equivalent). Re-roof using white 8" aluminum Drip-edge along all edges and rakes with ice and water shield protection underlayment along the first 3' of all edges and in valleys as well. All roof nails shall be a minimum 1 1/4 " galvanized (zinc plated) employing a nailing pattern designed to resist high wind velocity conditions. Flashing: Any existing step flashing and flashing at chimneys or cupola must be counter flashed. All roof penetrations shall receive new weather collars if necessary. Shingles: Provide quote for 50 year Architectural shingles , COLOR TO BE "Charcoal". Shingles must meet 110 mph wind zone standard; underlayment will be GAF Versa Shield Roof Underlayment or equal. Certificate of warranty must be given to the Town; Miscellaneous: Gutters: Clean gutters of all debris The anticipated date of award of the contract is July 18, 2022.
