Whatcom County Public Works requests bids for the 2022 and 2023 Swift Creek Channel Excavation project, Work Order 21055. This project provides for activities related to the management of Swift Creek sediment, channel excavation, sediment stockpiling, and capping, and other work, as further described in the bid documents. Channel Excavation Incl. Haul Shaping and Capping of Sediment Stockpiles Erosion/ Water Pollution Control (Force Account) Roadway Surveying Temporary Stream Crossing The sediment of Swift Creek contains naturally occurring asbestos (NOA) and appropriate handling and safety regulations will apply. NOA has been identified below the top one foot of existing topsoil and on existing and unsurfaced roads throughout the Site. Award will be made to the lowest qualified bidder. Whatcom County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any irregularities. Whatcom County encourages disadvantaged, minority and women owned firms to respond.
