The bidder shall provide grass cutting and debris pick-up of the Sewerage & Water Board canals and other sites as outlined in the specifications. The following work must be performed to clean and maintain the Board's canals, servitudes and rights of ways: cut grass on along canals, curbs, servitudes and rights of way. Additionally, the work includes the removal of trash and litter from canals and various Board sites and haul to a proper disposal site. Additional work to be performed shall consist of cutting of grass from top to bottom,cutting grass and trimming of curbs and fence lines with weed eaters, trimming trees,cutting up and removal of fallen trees, etc., removal of decaying trees that are onS&WB's servitudes, removal of all debris such as cut grass, baskets, tires, sofas,stoves, refrigerators, trees, etc. from the canals and policing of area for paper anddebris before cutting, trimming, or use of weed eaters. The contractor shall provide the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor a 24-hour notice prior to performing the work and a monthly plan for work to be accomplished. The work sites are canals within the limits of the City of New Orleans and located on the Westbank. The contractor is required to maintain the integrity of the various Sewerage and Water Board facilities and open canals A cashier's check, a certified check, U.S. currency or a bid bond acceptable to the Sewerage and Water Board must be enclosed with each proposal and no proposal will be considered which does not comply with this requirement. Said bond shall be written in the name of the party, firm or corporation offering the proposal. The amount of this deposit or bid bond shall be five (5%) percent of the total amount of the proposal. The deposits or bid bonds will be retained by the Sewerage and Water Board as the property of the bidders until the contract is awarded or all proposals are rejected. Upon the award of the contract, the deposits or bid bonds of all bidders, other than the lowest two (2) formal bidders, will be returned. The return of the deposit or bid bond of the bidder to whom the contract is awarded is conditioned upon the successful bidder furnishing the insurance required in the specifications, and executing a contract, thereof according to the specifications. The deposit or bid bond of the next lowest bidder will be returned as soon as the successful bidder has executed his contract. If all proposals are rejected, all deposits or bid bonds will be returned immediately.
