This project was awarded to Herman Construction Group, Inc. a subsidiary company under the SES Group of Companies. *All bids and questions need to be directed to our Project Manager Carrie Bradley: CBradley@ses-grp.com & estimating@hermancg.com (865) 466-5033 This is a Design-Build Project The intent of this project is to correct infection control by repairing and adjusting the ventilation system serving the Sterile Processing Department (SPD), correct Life Safety and Fire Code deficiencies and to correct NFPA 70E Electrical Code discrepancies identified herein. The medical mission of the SPD cannot be interrupted. The Contractor shall provide a strategy and means of sustaining the SPD mission while working in the existing SPD space. A selected course of action shall be assessed as part of the Contractor’s best value proposal. Temporary construction may be required to isolate construction areas for infection control purposes. Mechanical infrastructural work in the SPD includes: perform a load analysis/design to determine required cooling air to provide proper environmental conditions in all SPD spaces, this load analysis shall include all areas served by AHU-H3 which serves primarily the SPD but also serves a few admin areas, closets and non-critical spaces making up only about 15% of the AHU load; modify or replace AHU-H3 as required; Building Automation System (BAS) additions, tie-ins, corrections, or adjustments; Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB); add four (4) exhaust hoods; install temperature, humidity, and pressure monitors; correct chilled and hot water flows; install loading dock door alarm; and add sweeps and seals where necessary to achieve required sterile working environment. The Repair Life Safety Code Deficiencies include many miscellaneous disciplines of work including: Replace/Repair/Adjust Fire Rated Doors; Install Light Fixture Retrofit Kits; Replace GFCI Duplex Receptacles; Replacing Standard Branch Circuit Breakers with new GFCI Breakers; Install Tamper Resistant Receptacles; and Install additional Receptacles in SPD. The repair/renewal shall meet all current codes, regulations, and standards, including WBAMC Design and Construction Guidelines (provided as a Programming Document).
