Deadline for questions from bidders: July 11th, 2022 at 5pm Deadline for substitution requests: July 11th, 2022 at 5pm Gorgas Library is the University of Alabama's central library and an essential building in functioning of the campus. Renovation of this 7-Story library facility, will focus on the construction of a new mechanical, fire protection, electrical, and telecommunication systems in the building. This work will include but is not limited to a new thermal piping loop connection, a 1000 SF addition housing new mechanical and fire pumps, replacement of mechanical airhandling equipment on the 5th floor and penthouse levels, modification of the existing fire hose standpipes as a fire protection distributionsystem, a new electrical service and electrical distibution system, and a new data service and distribution system. Associated with this primary scope of work will be site improvements, a new service court, a backup power system, and ceiling repacement of the music library on the first floor. An early demoltion package is currently being completed in the building where major portions of the demolition necessary for this project are being completed, This demolition work is scheudled to be completed in August of 2022.
