The Pearl River Public Library is exempt from the payment of New York State Sales or compensatory use taxes. Therefore, the Contractor shall not include any amount in its bid price to cover sales taxes for the above items. See Appendices for reference. 1.10 QUALIFICATIONS OF BIDDERS A. It is the intent of the Library to execute a service agreement with a Contractor that can provide reliable, uninterrupted, and sound service. The Contractor must possess the financial resources, experience, technical and management qualifications to meet the requirements of the Library throughout the term of this agreement. B. The Owner may make such investigations as it deems necessary to determine the qualifications of the Bidder to perform the work, and the Bidder shall furnish information and data for this purpose as may be required. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by a Bidder, or the investigation of such Bidder, fails to satisfy the Owner, that the Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligation of the Contract and/or able to complete the work contemplated therein within the time designated. Fraudulent statements shall cause rejections of Proposal and forfeiture of bid security. 1.11LEGAL NOTICE All proposals shall be on a lump sum basis and include all chiller replacement work under a single Contract. Segregated proposals will not be accepted. In general, the work includes chiller replacement, and related miscellaneous general construction work.
