Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
**As of September 15, 2022. The Project has been awarded to Lanier Construction Company in the awarded amount of $766,142.50.** The Project consists generally of the following major items: At Fire Station 26 located at 3929 Barwell Road, Raleigh, NC includes removal and replacement of 1500 SY of parking lot pavement with wheel stops and pavement markings. There will be minor grading and erosion control with tree protection. Pavement is asphalt and concrete. Total disturbed area is 22,650 sf. At Keeter Training Center located at 105 Keeter Center Drive, Raleigh, NC includes removal and replacement of 1650 SY of asphalt pavement. There will be minor grading and erosion control. There is a base bid for replacement pavement section and an alternate bid for the pavement section. Total disturbed area is 29,185 sf. Should a bidder find discrepancies or ambiguities in, or omissions from the Specifications and Drawings bound herein, or should be in doubt as to their meaning, he shall at once notify the Owner who will issue an interpretation in the form of an addendum. This addendum notification will be forwarded to all registered plan holders. Bidders must act promptly and allow sufficient time for a reply to reach them before the date established for submission of bids. Each bidder must acknowledge receipt of all addenda in his bid. No oral interpretations will be made to any bidder as to the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents or be effective to modify any of the provisions of the Documents All questions related to this request shall be submitted in writing no later than noon on Thursday, June 23, 2022. With each request for Bidding Documents supply the following information: Company name, contact person, street address, phone number, and email address for Bidding point of contact; N.C. contractor's license with limitation and classification; indicate if the firm will be a Prime bidder, Supplier or Sub-Contractor. Bidders will be required to show evidence that they are licensed to perform the work in the Bidding Documents as required by North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 87. The Owner/City Council reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all Bids. Unless all Bids are rejected, Award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder, taking into consideration quality, performance and the time specified in the Bid Form for the performance of the Contract. Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid and shall be subject to the conditions provided. See the bidders checklist to be used in preparing bids with two Sealed Envelopes and the contents in each. A performance bond and a payment bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Bonds given shall meet the requirement of the law of the State of North Carolina including by not limited to G.S. 143-129 and G.S. 44A-26. The surety on each bond shall be a surety company satisfactory to the City and duly authorized to do business in the State of North Carolina. Pursuant to General Statutes of North Carolina Sections 143-128.2 and 143-131, and in accordance with City policy, the City of Raleigh encourages and provides equal opportunity for certified Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) businesses to participate in all aspects of the City's contracting and procurement programs to include Professional Services; Goods and Other Services; and Construction. The prime contractor will be required to identify participation of MWBE businesses in their Bid, and how that participation will be achieved. Furthermore, the City's goal is to contract or sub-contract fifteen percent (15%) of the contract amount to certified MWBEs on construction projects over $300,000, or with contracts that include $100,000 or more in state funding. The City reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals.
