Sealed bids are being solicited for: Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, Health Center Division, Detour Clinic Renovations. The project consists of new cabinets, windows, flooring, boiler, new interior partition walls and minor electrical and mechanical work along with miscellaneous components as shown on the drawings and presented at the walk-thru. The Contract Documents may be examined at the office of U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc., 707 Ashmun Street, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. No Bid shall be received unless accompanied by a certified check or satisfactory Bid Bond payable to the Owner in an amount no less than Sault Tribe Sales Tax and Use Tax Exemption: Materialsthat are purchased, used or acquired in the performance of a contract entered into by the Sault Tribe for construction, renovation or improvement of real property owned by the Tribe or federal Government in trust for the Tribe are exempt from both sales tax and use tax if the real property is located within Triballyowned lands or trust lands. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. Preference will be given to Indian organizations and Indian owned economic enterprises. Contractor must comply with the provisions of the Copeland "Anti-Kickback" Act and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Act as they apply to construction contracts. Contractor must comply with the minimum rates for wages as determined by the Davis-Bacon Wage Decision in effect at the date of contract award.
