For: Southport High School East Parking Lot Resurface 971 East Banta Road Indianapolis, Indiana 46227 Bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidders will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of their Contract amount prior to execution of Contracts. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any Bid (or combination of Bids) and to waive any irregularities in bidding. All Bids may be held for a period not to exceed 60 days before awarding contracts. Part 1: General A. Cleaning, excavations, concrete curbing, crack repair and asphalt paving as outlined. Part 2: Materials A. Tack coat shall conform with section 409 of the Indiana Department of Transportation Standard Specifications. B. Binder conforming with section 402 HMA of the Indiana Department of Transportation Standard Specifications. Part 3: Execution A. Utilize tandem axle dump trucks, 4' milling machine and 8' wide asphalt paver to minimize damage to remaining pavement and subbase. B. Remove section outlined in yellow containing concrete and pavers-replace with asphalt C. Mill approximately 1.5' of existing asphalt. Haul off millings and broom clean pavement. D. Apply asphalt tack coat to all areas to be paved. E. Furnish and lay 1.5' of HMA type A 9.5mm F. Re-stripe lot to match existing layout NOTE: Reduced loading operations shall be used while performing paving. Due to unknown conditions of the sub base, any failures that arise shall be repaired through a change order.
