In a residential hillside area near Dixie Canyon Ave & Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks, the NE or downslope side of Inwood Dr has settled, affecting about 100 LF of the street, encroaching 3-8 ft into the roadway. This has caused the pavement to be cracked and uneven and has reduced the usable width of the roadway, creating a threat to public safety. This project will mitigate the threat to public safety and restore lateral support to the roadway by constructing a new bulkhead retaining structure along the NE side of the street. The 110-ft bulkhead will be constructed of cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) piles with steel wide-flange beams & pre-cast concrete lagging. A monolithic concrete curb, gutter, & grade beam is planned at the top, and a metal-beam guardrail will be installed on top of that. Also includes removal/repair of damaged AC pavement along the NE side of the road. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
