Nashville Construction Company is the awarded contractor bid amount of $142,500.00. All work will be completed by October 31st. Proposals are to be submitted by email to purchasing@kalamazoocountyroads.com. The email subject line must have vendor name, bid number and date of opening clearly marked. The RCKC reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive irregularities and to award the proposal(s) they deem in the best interest of the RCKC. Please take notice the RCKC will be providing request for proposal opening meetings by telephonic conferencing or video conferencing, in a manner in which the vendors, general public and the members of the RCKC may participate. The following participation information will be used for all proposals at the designated time: The work shall consist of: A. Installing new guardrail or upgrading guardrail at existing locations. (Changing end sections to a new FLEAT end is a separate function covered under C) Work may include installation of thrie beam rail and bridge abutment attachments. Bid price shall include labor, equipment, traffic control, components, material, and hardware. B. Raising/lowering guardrail including removing, salvaging, and reinstalling guardrail and present FLEAT end assemblies, on 6' 3" center posts. Posts to be replaced with driven method of installation, no auguring of posts. C. Replacing outdated end sections with new FLEAT end assemblies. Bid price shall include labor, equipment, traffic control, components, material, and hardware. D. Replacing damaged posts and sections of guardrail. The type of post used must be similar to the type removed. Posts that are replaced or realigned must have soil replaced, added, and compacted as necessary. Posts must be driven; the auger method must not be used. Bid price shall include labor, equipment, traffic control, components, material, hardware, and disposal.
