Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Medina, Ohio. Working plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The current bridge was originally built in 1913 and received a new superstructure in 1972. The single span 65 foot long, 24 foot wide bridge will be replaced with a 34 foot wide, concrete structure for vehicular traffic with wider shoulders. This project will be 100% funded with Local Bridge Program grant money. This bridge is being designed in 2022. Due to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, this project was moved from construction in 2025 to construction in 2023, as well as now being 100% funded with federal dollars. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
