This contract is to remove and replace the herein specified damaged components located at the Myrtle Grove Fire Station and the Myrtle Grove Fire Station Fuel Pavilion, 7209 Lillian Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32506. Coordinates: (Fire Station) 30 25' 14.40" N, 87 18' 31.25" W (Fuel Pavilion) 30 25' 13.35" N, 87 18' 31.58" W FEMA DI: (Fire Station) 419280 (Fuel Pavilion) 419280 FEMA Project Number: 178784 FEMA PW: 564 General 1. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to fully investigate the existing conditions and scope recommendations associated with this project prior to submitting a bid. 2. All construction and construction actions shall comply with local, state, and federal safety codes/requirements. 3. Contractor shall supply, receive, off-load, and maintain all materials and equipment needed to support and achieve the work described above. 4. All equipment necessary to perform the work shall be provided by the Contractor. The use of Escambia County's equipment and personnel shall not be permitted. 5. The Contractor shall protect the building components and surrounding property from any damage directly or indirectly related to the construction activities and provide all construction barriers required by this work to protect the Contractors and Escambia County's property and personnel. 6. The Contractors bid shall include, but not be limited to, mobilization, safety, overhead equipment, materials installation equipment, personnel, and profit fees to perform the work described. 7. The contractor shall verify all existing conditions referred to in the document and take steps necessary for compliance with the recommendations and specific drawing details. 8. Work shall be limited to normal business hours only, unless prior approval is requested, and granted. 9. Contractor shall be responsible for securing all materials staging areas and permits required to perform the work. 10. Due to the anticipated delay in production, and delivery, of certain construction materials required to complete this project, if manufacturing and delivery of construction materials is greater than 30 days, the Contractor shall provide written notification from the manufacturer and request a change order to the contract time. 11. Work shall be completed within 15 calendar days. The Myrtle Grove Fire Station building site encompasses an approximate 6,400 square foot footprint. It is a one (1) story structure visible from Lillian Hwy. The external building facade was observed to be masonry on the North elevation of the building and metal panel siding on the remaining three (3) elevations. The building is surrounded by asphalt on three sides in the form of either parking lots or drives. There are three (3) large commercial roll-up doors on both the North and South sides of the building - presumably for emergency vehicle ingress and egress. Two (2) aluminum framed doors were noted along the exterior of the building; one at the front of the fire station for general public access and one at the rear of the building for personnel access to the living quarters. The roof is a gable corrugated metal R-panel roof over lumber decking. The fire station also includes a detached tool shed located behind the Fuel Pavilion. The tool shed is a gabled 3-tab shingle roof over a lumber deck. The Fuel Pavilion is an open lumber structure with a 3-tab shingle roof directly applied to a lumber deck. Work includes furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary and required for the completion of the application of internal and external components as indicated on the construction drawings and specified herein. The scope of work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following items: Tool Shed 1. Proper staging of materials. Materials shall arrive onsite in their manufacturers labeling and be kept in a watertight/temperature safe environment prior to installation as per all manufacturers' recommendations that apply. 2. Replace approximately (5) square feet of missing/damaged laminate architectural asphalt shingles. Ensure new shingles color and profile match the existing shingles as best possible. Fuel Pavilion 1. Proper staging of materials. Materials shall arrive onsite in their manufacturers labeling and be kept in a watertight/temperature safe environment prior to installation as per all manufacturers' recommendations that apply. 2. a. Remove entire roof down to the structural lumber members. Ensure lumber structural members integrity are adequate to re-install new roofing system. Contractor should provide a unit price bid for the removal and replacement of the lumber framing members in the event the existing lumber members are not adequate for installation of the new roof. b. Replace three-hundred and eighteen (318) square feet of 1/2 " thick CDX plywood roof sheathing. c. Replace thirty-four (34) linear feet of aluminum drip edge. d. Replace three (300) square feet of #30 felt underlayment. e. Replace three (300) square feet of architectural laminate asphalt shingles. Include all relevant edge metal and flashing components. f. Replace seventeen (17) linear feet of asphalt ridge shingles.
