Description: The proposed construction consists of replacement of utility owned water service lines between the water main in the street and the curb box in the terrace, sidewalk or driveway. The Owner will inform the Contractor of services to be replaced on an as needed basis. Work must be completed within 28 calendar days of said notification or before the project completion date, whichever comes first. Work includes excavation, service materials and installation, reconnection to private service line, abandonment of existing service lines, backfilling with granular materials, compaction, installation of sixteen inches of aggregate base below pavements, traffic control, turf restoration and other miscellaneous items of work. If a successful Bidder fails to execute and file the required contract and bond, Bidder agrees to forfeit bid deposit to the City as liquidated damages. This Bid will remain open for 45 days after the date of Bid opening or for such longer period of time that Bidder may agree to in writing upon request of Owner. The Council reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive technicalities. Unless the Bids are rejected for good cause, award of contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder.
