Supply all materials & labour necessary to replace the existing asphalt shingles on the rear section of the detachment (roof area past breezeway). The intent of the project is to protect the integrity of the structures & mitigate the risk of future damage to interior finishes. Scope includes remove/strip existing shingles, including fasteners & roofing membrane. Inspect eaves & fascia for replacement & inspect sheathing after removal of existing shingles. Ensure surface is firm & dry, without ridges, warps or voids & properly fastened. Any damaged sheathing is to be identified during demolition & BGIS Project Manager to be notified immediately in order to secure approval to replace damaged sheathing. Replace missing 'H' clips as necessary. Vent pipes & other accessories projecting through the roof must be in place & appropriate roof flashings installed prior to shingling. Installation of full waterproof underlayment (ice and water shield) is to be performed over the entirety of all roof surfaces prior to shingling occurs (as per client request). New asphalt shingles to match as closely as possible with existing. At eaves, use a starter course of shingles, tabs reversed, overhang 1/2". Install ridges & roof vents prior to shingling and nail as per manufacturer's directions. Shingles to be Architectural style, individually tabbed strip shingle, mineral surfaced asphalt with fiberglass felts having a 30-year manufacturer's warranty at a minimum. Eavestrough and downspouts in good condition. The roof area approx. 5,400 feet square (contractor responsible to take on-site measurements). There is a roof top unit installed on this roof (contractor responsible to remove and re-install platform). Existing roof anchor system (fall arrest and the peak roof anchors) to be to be removed and disposed of prior to installing the new asphalt shingles. Existing exhaust hood located next to the RTU to be removed and disposed of prior to installing new asphalt shingles. Contractor responsible to fill-in open area with proper sheeting and barriers. By submitting our response to this solicitation, we confirm that we have read and agree to comply with the terms and conditions of this ITT, and we agree to provide, upon request, all documentation without modification as defined in this ITT. Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site. COVID-19 Site Specific Safety Plans and social distancing must be adhered to. Masks must be worn for the duration of the site visit.
