Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Orange, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and recreation facility.
TWE Project No. 21.23.125 / Report No. 125314 It is the intent and purpose of these contract documents to provide for improvements to existing and providing proposed paving areas of Bluebird Recreational Area Improvements located on102 N Farragut Ave, Orange, TX 77630. CONTRACTOR TO PERFORM ALL WORK AS INDICATED. This contract shall provide for the necessary labor, equipment, tools, materials, and all other related construction for the proposed project. This contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: BASE BID 1. Contractor shall rehabilitate existing asphalt parking area, by reworking the existing surface and base to a maximum depth of six (6") inches and providing cement treatment per TxDOT Item 275. Furnish and install six (6") inches of compacted limestone base per TxDOT Item 247 over a geogrid and applying 2" of HMAC surfacing per TxDOT Item 340, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Existing grass area where the existing area light is located to be paved in accordance with the requirements for unpaved area, with surface installed monolithically with the rest of the parking lot. 2. Contractor shall install proposed parking to the south of the existing parking lot, by excavating the existing organics, install geogrid, twelve inches (12") inches of compacted limestone base per TxDOT Item 247, and applying 2" of HMAC surfacing per TxDOT Item 340, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Surface to be installed monolithically with the rest of the parking lot. 3. Contractor shall install pavement markers/striping for parking and pavement signs per TxDOT Items 666 & 678, including handicap symbols and signage, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 4. Contractor shall remove and relocate security light and associated conduit. Conduit shall be installed in accordance with Entergy requirements, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 5. Contractor shall provide for final site grading and seeding of all disturbed areas, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 6. Contractor to install erosion protection measures including silt fence, rock berms, articulated blocks, and SWPPP Plan and NOI all in accordance with plans and specifications. 7. Contractor to install two (2)12 ft x 20 ft concrete pads for picnic table areas, all in accordance with plans and specifications. ADDITIVE BID ITEMS 1. Contractor shall install proposed parking to the West of the existing parking lot, by excavating the existing organics, install geogrid, twelve inches (12") inches of compacted limestone base per TxDOT Item 247, and applying 2" of HMAC surfacing per TxDOT Item 340, markings/striping per TxDOT Items 666 and 678, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. If Owner elects to include this additive item, surface shall be installed monolithically with the rest of the parking area. 2. Contractor shall install proposed sidewalks to picnic tables and pavilion areas, including removal of bollards, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 3. Contractor shall install topping slabs on picnic and pavilion areas, in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 4. Contractor shall rehabilitate existing boardwalk and extend the existing boardwalk, including all new timber, new wooden driven piles on the extension, composite decking, approximately 12LF of 15" RCP storm sewer, all related appurtenances, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. 5. Contractor shall install a floating kayak launch, by EZ Dock of Texas or prior approved equivalent, in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, in strict accordance with plans and specifications. Special Considerations 1. Contractor to coordinate area closures with the SRA 72 hours in advance of all work as required. 2. The Contractor shall pay close attention to the project schedule to ensure that the work is completed in a timely manner. Contractor is to phase the work so that the existing parking area and boat launch remains open to the greatest extent possible. Contractor to coordinate ramp closures to close half ramp at a time as needed for tie in pours. Contractor may perform work on the unpaved areas to prepare site, install compacted fill, treat subgrade, install flexible base, compact and grade prior to closing the area to perform work on the existing parking areas and boat launch expansion. 3. Existing utilities are present at each site. The contractor shall coordinate with each utility to ensure that services are appropriately located prior to repairing base. 4. Underground utilities exist near or within the project area. During construction, the Contractor shall take the necessary precautions to avoid damaging the existing utilities within the limits of the project site. 5. Overhead power lines are located near or within the project site. The Contractor shall notify proper authorities at least 72 hours before construction begins. The Contractor shall take precautions to avoid damage to power lines, foundations, guy wires, and appurtenances. The Contractor shall observe all applicable OSHA and owner requirements while working near the overhead power lines including restriction of height of equipment.
