Prospective bidders will be required to submit a valid fax number where addenda can be sent. NO BIDS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE BID OPENING HAS COMMENCED. Bids must be prepared and submitted using the standard Proposal Form which is provided in the bid document package. Each bidder shall submit one (1) original of their proposal, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name of the bidder and clearly marked "Maintenance and Repair Sewer Screening Facilities ". Facsimile transmissions (faxes) will not be accepted. The guarantee of the successful bidder will be returned upon execution of the contract. All guarantees of the unsuccessful bidders will be returned upon award of contract to the successful bidder. INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED EXACTLY OR THE BID MAY BE DECLARED NON-RESPONSIVE. The right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in any bid is reserved if such an action is not detrimental to the interest of the City of Newark. (P.L. 1975, c.127) and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1.1 et seq., concerning affirmative action, and any amendment thereto, and P.L. 1977, c. 33, which refers to the statement of corporation ownership. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE AT BID OPENINGS IS PROHIBITED due to restrictions on public gatherings under the State of Emergency. We are not conducting in person Bid/RFP openings during the competitive bidding process. We encourage bid and RFP responses to be submitted via certified mail or overnight delivery to ensure timely receipt of responses. The City of Newark will conduct and broadcast the bid opening in real time at the Water and Sewer Department. Bidders and the public have the option of remotely accessing and viewing the bid opening in real time through Zoom conference call with visual and audio capability.
