The purpose and intent of this invitation to bid is to select contractors to provide Recycling & Disposal Services for end-of-life electronic equipment collection and disposal, as needed, such as: CPU's computer monitors, CRT's, peripheral equipment, televisions, audiovisual equipment and other electronic equipment retired and/or classified as end-of-life by Hernando County School District. Services to be provided on an as needed basis, for the packaging, loading, transportation, unloading and audit trail documentation of the equipment as specified. Contractors must provide free Gaylord Containers or equivalent in advance and shall respond within seventy-two (72) hours of notification for container pick-up and removal from the district site, to be completed in full within thirty (30) days after notification. As advancements in technology force more products into the waste system this equipment could pose significant environmental hazards if not properly disposed or recycled. This solicitation encourages the safe handling and reuse or recycling of materials from electronic equipment and cathode ray tubes (CRT's) to the maximum extent possible in a cost-effective environmentally responsible manner.
