Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Wheaton, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

As of July 14 the project is set to be awarded on July 27th board meeting. Wheaton Park District will be receiving sealed bids for the 2022 Backstop Replacement Project - Locations- ATTEN PARK - 1720 South Wiesbrook Road, Wheaton, IL 60189 GRAF PARK (Pre-Bid Meeting) - 1855 Manchester Road, Wheaton, IL 60187 HOFFMAN PARK - 411 North Prospect Street, Wheaton, IL 60187 Base Bid: Backstop Replacement at District Baseball Fields (Chain Link Fence) at three parks: Priority of work: #1 - Atten Park, Field #15, 1720 South Weisbrook Road, Wheaton, IL 60189 Work is to be started and completed at this location before moving on to nextlocation. #2a-b-c - Graf Park, Field #3, #4 and #5, 1855 Manchester Road, Wheaton, IL 60187 All three (3) backstop projects at this location can be started and worked on at thesame time. Projects are to be completed prior to moving on to last location. #3 - Hoffman Park, Field #21, 411 North Prospect Street, Wheaton, IL 60187 1). Atten Park - Field #15 o Remove and replace backstop on one (1) ballfield, #15 as per plans and specifications. o Remove and replace sideline and dugout fences on one (1) ballfield, #3 as per plans and specifications. o Posts and rails shall be black powder coated, stainless steel ss-40. Fence fabric shall be 6 gauge core fuse bonded black vinyl coated chain link for the first 10 feet above grade. 9 gauge core 8 gauge fuse bonded black vinyl coated chain link may be used after that. o Players benches and outfield fence to remain as is. 2a). Graf Park - Field #3 o Remove and replace backstops on one (1) ballfield, #3 as per plans and specifications. o Remove and replace sideline fences on one (1) ballfield, #3 as per plans and specifications. o All posts and rails shall be galvanized stainless steel ss-40. Fence fabric shall be 6 gauge core galvanized, chain link for the first 10 feet above grade. 9 gauge core 8 gauge galvanized, chain link may be used after that. o Players benches and dugout fences to remain as is. 2b). Graf Park - Field #4 o Remove and replace sideline fence fabric only on one (1) ballfield, #4 as per plans and specifications. Reuse existing sideline posts and rails. o Fence fabric shall be 6 gauge core galvanized, chain link. o Install two (2) new sideline netting systems on both sidelines of field #4. (See attached specifications and plans). o Players benches, dugout fences and backstop to remain as is. 2c). Graf Park - Field #5 o Remove and replace backstops on one (1) ballfield, #5 as per plans and specifications. o Remove and replace sideline and dugout fences on one (1) ballfield, #5 as per plans and specifications. o All posts and rails shall be galvanized stainless steel ss-40. Fence fabric shall be 6 gauge core galvanized, chain link for the first 10 feet above grade. 9 gauge core 8 gauge galvanized, chain link may be used after that. o Remove and replace two (2) player's benches on one (1) ballfield, #5 as per plans and specifications. Contractor shall supply and install 15 foot direct bury aluminum players benches. The benches shall be Belson Outdoors Model #ABSI5NB-I or equal. 3). Hoffman Park - Field #21 o Remove and replace backstops on one (1) ballfield, #21 as per plans and specifications. o Remove and replace sideline and dugout fences on one (1) ballfield, #21 as per plans and specifications. o Posts and rails shall be black powder coated, stainless steel ss-40. Fence fabric shall be 6 gauge core fuse bonded black vinyl coated chain link for the first 10 feet above grade. 9 gauge core 8 gauge fuse bonded black vinyl coated chain link may be used after that. o Remove and replace two (2) player's benches on one (1) ballfield, #21 as per plans and specifications. Contractor shall supply and install 15 foot direct bury aluminum players benches. The benches shall be Belson Outdoors Model #ABSI5NB-I or equal. The Wheaton Park District Board of Park Commissioners reserves the right to waive all technicalities, to accept or reject any or all bids, to accept only portions of a proposal and reject the remainder without disclosure for any reason. Failure to make such a disclosure will not result in accrual of any right, claim or cause of action by any Bidder against the Wheaton Park District. Bids shall not include federal excise tax or state sales tax for materials and equipment to be incorporated in, or fully consumed in the performance of, the Work. An Exemption Certificate will be furnished by the Wheaton Park District on request of the Bidder, for use in connection with this Project only. The Work of this Project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq. A prevailing wage determination has been made by the Illinois Department of Labor for public works projects in DuPage County. The Contract entered into for the Work will be drawn in compliance with said law and proposals should be prepared accordingly and provide for payment of all laborers, workmen, and mechanics needed to perform the Work at no less than the prevailing rate of wages (or the prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work) for each craft, type of worker, or mechanic. All bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond or bank cashier's check payable to the Wheaton Park District for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid as provided in the Instructions to Bidders. No proposals or bids will be considered unless accompanied by such bond or check. The Contractor selected will also be required to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and executive orders including but not limited to those pertaining to equal employment opportunity.
