The tentative date to award the construction bid is anticipated to be Monday, July 11, 2022, at 9:00 am at the County Commissioners meeting. All work is more particularly described in Contract Documents that are on file and available during regular business hours on or after June 8, 2022. This project includes the reconstruction of the existing exterior sandstone stairs located at the West side of the Elkhart County Courthouse, 101 North Main Street, Goshen, Indiana 46526. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form provided and accompanied by a noncollusion affidavit, Form 96 of the State Board of Accounts, financial statement, bid bond, or certified check, each for a value of not less than ten percent (10%) of the Bidders total bid amount, including all alternatives bids items and other items as noted. The guarantee shall be made out to Elkhart County, Indiana, Treasurer. The successful bidder will be required to furnish contract performance and payment bonds for 100% of their contract amount prior to the execution of the contracts. Bonds shall be maintained in accordance with IC 36-1-12-13.1 and 36-1-12-14. Bonds shall be in full force and effect for a period of at least 12 months after the date of Final Completion of the Contract. Pursuant to Indiana Code 22-5-1.7-11, the successful Contractor entering into a contract with the Elkhart Board of Commissioners is required to enroll in and verify the work eligibility status of all its newly hired employees through the E-Verify program. Pursuant to Indiana Code 5-22-16.5, the Elkhart Board of Commissioners may not contract with a person who is engaged in investment activities in Iran. Elkhart Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, waive all informalities or irregularities in bidding and to resolicit request for bids. The Elkhart Board of Commissioners shall award the bids to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder pursuant to I.C. 5-22-7-8.
