The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Louisville District will be soliciting proposals for the Camp Nelson Lodge Rehab effort in Nicholasville, KY. As part of this construction contract solicitation, the USACE intends to include the following sole source requirements: Flexi Step Stairlift - The project requires the use of the FlexiStep stairlift by Liftup due to its unique compatibility with the historic character of the building and the historic design. This lift system is required to meet required ADA compliance. The system has been vetted and approved by the Kentucky SHPO due to its streamlined and unobtrusive design and small footprint, rendering it the only stairlift compatible with the historic character and building design.The identified Flexi Step system is intended for use for brand name sole sourcing. BEST 40H Series Mortise Locks - These are the door hardware lock sets and cores required to be utilized throughout the NCA Caretakers Lodge Renovation Program to ensure continuity and ease of use. The use of a single lock core enables the systematic management of the lock system for the NCA and the Caretaker's Lodges. The optimal support for these standard cores is a lockset provided by the same manufacturer. Providing a single lock core for all doors across the Lodges allows for continuity of maintenance and design for their upcoming renovations.The identified BEST series locks are intended for use for brand name sole sourcing.
