Project to prepare the 5th Floor Centre Block section for a tenant relocation by removing floor mounted electrical outlets, selective replacement of flooring and repairs/painting of vertical surfaces. The area includes approximately 80% of the centre block office floor plate, including all office, storage, wiring and electrical rooms, but not including the 5CBN dental clinic space. The area is approximately 2500 square meters of mostly open space with about 20 office/storage/board rooms. Floors are mostly carpet tiles with very small portions of VCT on a concrete floor; walls are typically 8 foot height and a combination of plaster, drywall and vinyl clad "PC350" gypsum panels as well as metal heater cabinets under windows; there are a few dozen floor mounted electrical outlets. Carpets to be inspected and consultant to determine if it is better to complete localized replacement of damaged, stained or excessively worn tiles only or if it is better to reuse some tiles on a section of the floor and new tiles in another section. Baseboards consist of varying colours of carpet and vinyl to be replaced as needed due to damage. Vertical surfaces to be cleared of any decorations or materials (except cabinets, projectors and the like), assessed for repair and painting (drywall/plaster/painted doors) with damaged vinyl clad panels to be replaced - paint should be consistent throughout the floor and in a comparable neutral colour to existing; all corners subject to potential impact should have a protection against damage (stainless steel). Floor mounted electrical outlets to be removed and cabling to be removed back to the most appropriate junction or panel. Holes in floor to be filled with concrete or firestop as required by applicable code. Heritage requirements will not permit the painting of wood or finished metal surfaces and other requirement will be reviewed.
