Beaver County is seeking an RFP for installing route signage for ATV trails within the County. Job description: This Job will call for the installation of 370 carsonite and 4x4 posts with trail ID stickers and route numbers to identify the ATV trail system within the county. Carsonite (fiberglass) flexible sign posts will need to be installed along identified routes at all intersections and at specified intervals. Approximately 34 wooden 4x4 posts will need to be installed at trail intersections. These will be supplied by the county. Job requirements: The installation of these signs will require the contractor to pound the sign into the soil at a prescribed depth of 16 - 18". For driving the carsonite signs, a hand pounding tool is available from the county. However, for hard and rocky ground, it will be necessary to drill or pound pilot holes to facilitate the installation of the carsonite signs. All 4x4 posts will need to be buried to a depth of 2 feet. To secure the posts, dirt fill will need to be properly compacted. Additional Information: Potential contractors should have familiarity with Beaver County roads and trails. Georeferenced maps can be provided, such as Avenza or digital maps can be provided for apps like Gaia. The contractor will need to have an ATV to access many of the sign locations. The contractor will also need to provide their own equipment to facilitate sign installation, such as pilot hole drivers, augers, motorized pounders and personal transportation. A map of the trails and sign locations is shown for reference. There are approximately 250 miles of trails that need signs.
