Site work for a water / sewer project in New York, New York. Design plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

In May 2023, Hazen and Sawyer was awarded a contract for design services. A timeline for bid/ construction has not been established. The previous solicition is listed below.... Preliminary Design Services, Design Services, and Design Services During Construction for the Rehabilitation of the Catskill Aqueduct Wallkill Blowoff Chamber This scope applies to a Project with only one construction contractor. If Section 101 of the New York State General Municipal Law, known as the "Wicks Law," applies to this Project and requires that more than one prime construction contract be awarded, this Scope will be interpreted to refer to multiple construction contractors. Prior to the Project Kick-Off Meeting, the Consultant shall submit a draft of its Project Management Plan ("PMP") for DEP review. The purpose of the Project Kick-Off Meeting is to create alignment among the stakeholders regarding the Project delivery plan, goals, objectives, expectations of all stakeholders, and measurements of success. The Consultant shall hold the Project Kick-Off Meeting at the start of Preliminary Design Phase. Approximately two weeks prior to the Project Kick-Off Meeting, the Consultant shall cause its project manager and document controls manager to schedule and attend a "Pre-Project Kick-Off Meeting" to review the draft PMP (including all required plans/sections), draft Kick-Off Meeting agenda, and draft Kick-Off Meeting handouts. DEP's Portfolio Manager and Accountable Manager will attend this meeting. The Consultant shall prepare and submit a monthly progress report as described in the project delivery system from the start of Preliminary Design until completion of the Preliminary Design Phase. The Consultant shall submit each monthly report through the ePMIS. The Consultant shall cause a representative(s) who is/are intimately involved in the project to attend monthly progress meetings on direction from DEP. Monthly meetings will be managed as described in the project delivery system. In each monthly progress meeting,the Consultant shall discuss items requiring feedback, review the list of outstanding issues requiring resolution, review the status of the Project's scope, review the Project's schedule and budget, and review the risk register (see Task 1.4 below). The Consultant shall be prepared to discuss and provide the status of all design deliverables and be able to provide clear and definitive direction to the project team for the timely resolution of design-related issues that may affect the Project budget and/or schedule. The Project Manager will attend meetings only as directed by DEP. The Consultant shall attend up to 12 monthly Progress Meetings. The Consultant shall review up to 225 individual shop drawing submittals with one (1) resubmittal for each submittal. NYCDEP will be conducting a site walkthrough with the CAT-523-DES firms. The following protocol will be followed: 1. No more than two persons from each firm will be allowed. No walk-ins. 2. Face coverings must be worn indoors. 3. All attendees must meet at the designated parking area and maintain social distance. 4. All attendees must complete and submit the Temporary Access Form (for "PRE-BID MEETING SITE ACCESS"). BEDC (Bureau of Engineering Design & Construction) Project Team & BEDC EH&S Staff will perform health screening and temperature checks. 6. BEDC EHS Regional Manager will conduct the EH&S Orientation. 7. Small groups who passed the screening and checks will be able to sign in. 8. The walkthrough will go through a prescribed route, consisting of two areas a. Chamber (plan to go inside, but not descend to the valve level) b. Conduit outlet/release channel (limited parking available) NOTE: We suggest that anyone going on the conduit outlet/release channel walk utilize some type of DEET-containing insect repellant and/or perform a thorough tick check after the walk, and again at home. This area has a high population of ticks and is overgrown. 9. After each small group completes its walkthrough, they will sign out and leave the site. 10. The next small group will commence the walkthrough. 11. Every attendee must wear the minimum PPE listed below and bring their own. 12. No questions will be answered during the walkthrough. 13. The site visit is weather permitting and subject to change. MINIMUM PPE: o Hard hat o Substantial work shoes or boots - sturdy leather (or equivalent) upper; defined heel. No perforated shoes, sandals, sneakers, cloth/fabric tennis shoes, mesh, open toed or high heel shoes allowed. o High Visibility Vest o Face mask (cotton or surgical, as minimum) o Work clothes: o pants/trousers - no shorts, skirts, or sweatpants o shirt with sleeves that cover the shoulders The Agency reserves the right to postpone or cancel this RFP, in whole or in part, and to reject all proposals. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time
