Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
The Town of Bethel Acres desires the design and build services to replace an existing railroad tie retaining wall, which is failing, with a poured concrete retaining wall. The retain-ing wall design and construction must ensure safety of users, ensure proper drainage of the area and not direct water flow to ballfields. Project Goals: 1. Provide a safe environment for participants. 2. Provide proper drainage of area to prohibit future retaining wall, ballfield and grounds damage. 3. Provide adequate dugout facilities for participants. 4. Provide proper handicap viewer access for ballfield 3. Scope of Work: Removal and disposal of approximately 400 LF of 3-4 ft high railroad ties installed in 2 tiers Tier 1 approximately 176 LF Tier 2 approximately 221 LF Removal and disposal of approximately 20 LF of 2 ft high railroad ties installed in one tier around OG&E transformer area. Will require coordination with OG&E to level existing transformer. Design and install approximately 400 LF of steel reinforced poured concrete to replace existing retaining walls. Wall height to be restricted to remain compliant with standard safety codes and preclude necessity of installing hand rails. Construction and placement of retaining wall(s) will include consideration for drainage of water runoff to north and south sides of field 3 (eastern most ball field). Backfill and level each level of ground created by retaining walls. Reseed all areas impacted by construction. Install 4" steel reinforced concrete pad under existing west side of field 3 bleacher area also must allow for proper drainage. All drainage must be channeled or directed away from and around ball field areas. Install a 10 sq ft pad with curb off upper sidewalk between existing stairs south of existing 1st baseline bleacher and the transformer area. Duplicate handicap pad on field 2. Pad must connect to and be at same level as existing sidewalk that accesses upper level of stairs. Place concrete to ensure proper drainage and control ground erosion. All drainage considerations must ensure no erosion of surrounding soils. Natural drainage to north of field 3 would be appropriate for northward drainage and toward concrete culvert on south side of field 3. Extend 3rd baseline dugout pad to the north 8 LF and to the west to the new lower retaining wall. This will make the retaining wall the back end of the dugout. Finished dugout floor to be approx. 28 ft x 14 ft. east- west width determined by retaining wall but to be no less than an additional 6 foot to the west. Extend 1st baseline dugout pad to the east 8 LF and to the south 6 LF. Will require backfill and CMU block or equivalent to maintain a level pad and avoid impacting nearby drainage culvert. Wet weather may prohibit use of heavy equipment. Access may require partial removal of 6 ft high chain link fence and if entering area from north may require removal of 6 ft high chain link fence gate(s). Scheduling of work MUST be during off season when no ball players are scheduled to use the fields. For CY 2022 that will be after the first week of June 2022. Adjacent playground user safety must be considered. Evaluation Criteria: Evaluation of bids will be determined on best bid and not necessarily best price. The best bids will be determined on best design (*to include water erosion solutions), safety, warranties, and expected final appearance of project along with final cost. Submission Requirements: 1. Bid cost of project. Each item from "Scope of Work" section will need to be bid to allow parts to be deleted if bid is above available town resources. 2. Total lineal feet of retaining wall for each section. A drawing or sketch may be provided to provide this information 3. Cross section sketch or drawing of retaining wall construction. 4. Steel reinforcement size and placement. 5. Concrete strength and type. 6. Warranty period. 7. Estimated timeline for project. Weather delays are expected and can be worked out with the Town of Bethel Acres construction representative. 8. Proof of insurance to ensure no liability for damages or personnel injury or death can be levied or adjudicated against the Town of Bethel Acres. Bid award date expected to be no later than 1 August 2022, if bids are within budgeted amount.
