The Salisbury-Rowan Utilities (SRU) is seeking a local Contractor to perform water system and sanitary sewer work throughout their service area on an as-needed, on-call basis. The Contractor shall have both water and sanitary sewer experience as documented by verifiable references. The Contractor must have an office located within 25 miles of Salisbury North Carolina, and the Contractor must have local crews that can respond to any situation within one hour. SRU will provide all major materials for installation under this Contract, and the Contractor shall provide all labor to install the provided materials along with miscellaneous stone and restoration materials. Water work may include installing new and repairing existing small diameter and large diameter water mains, water services, irrigation services and fire line services; installing new and replacing existing fire hydrants; installing tapping service saddles, corporation stops, sleeves, and valve assemblies; installing main line gate valves and air release valves; installing large meter boxes; installing permanent blow-offs; and any other water work required by SRU as included in the Bid Form. Sewer work may include cleaning and televising sewers; performing point repairs to existing manholes and sewers to repair specific defects; installing new sewers and manholes to extend the sewer system or replace existing sewers and manholes; installing new service laterals and connections; performing miscellaneous manhole rehabilitation and repair work; and any other sewer work required by SRU as included in the Bid Form. Each Bid shall be accompanied by bid security as described in Section 700 - Proposal. The successful BIDDER will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds as described in Section 400 - Instructions to Bidders. Requirements concerning the qualifications of BIDDERS are described in Section 01232 - Summary of Work and Special Provisions. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty days after the actual date of the opening thereof. SRU reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and all bids and waive formalities.
