The City of Auburn is accepting written proposals for the Community Development Block Grant Department's 2022 Union Street Pedestrian Crossing Project. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals in whole or in part and to waive any informality the City may determine necessary. The City also reserves to itself the exclusive right to accept any proposal when it is deemed by the City to be in its best interest. The City of Auburn is governed by Title 1 M.R.S.A. 401-410, otherwise known as the Freedom of Information Act, which considers bid specifications as public documents. In awarding any proposal, the City may consider, but not be limited to, any of the following factors: Bidder qualifications, price, experience, financial standing with the City, warranties, references, bonding, delivery date, and service of Bidder. Vendors/Contractors shall be current on all amounts due to the City of Auburn prior to the City entering into any contract agreement. All proposals must include FOB to Auburn, Maine unless otherwise specified. The following scope of work is being proposed for the 2022 Union Street Pedestrian Crossing Project for the City of Auburn. The scope of work is a brief overview of the expected extent of work included in this contract as shown on the highlighted partial plan set. Some general notes on Sheet 2 have been highlighted but others still apply. Work includes the following on School Street, Union Street and Library Avenue: o Sawcut pavement around project limits. o Excavate existing pavement, gravel and curbing. o Install new catch basin on Union Street at Library Avenue. o Install new granite curbing. o Construct new sidewalks and landings. o Install truncated dome panels. o Install new Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB). o Install bituminous curbing. o Stripe new crosswalks. o Remove chainlink fence. o Loam/seed/mulch disturbed green space. All work must be completed from 7:00AM to 7:00PM. The completion date for this project is October 21st, 2022.
