The City is seeking qualified contractors to bid on their Solid Waste Management Services Contract as outlined in the tender documents. The Contract will be for a period of ten (10) years for garbage collection/disposal and leaf and yard waste collection, and two (2) years for recycling collection/processing, with the option to extend an additional eight (8) years following the City of Brockville's transition to Ontario's new blue box regulation (O. Reg. 391/21) under Waste Free Ontario Act which includes the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act and Waste Diversion Transition Act, 2016 on January 1st, 2025. A third component of this contract is for the curbside collection and processing of Source Separated Organics (SSO). The SSO component will expire at the same time as the garbage collection/processing component.
