The City of Lafayette desires to convert certain city facility landscape areas from high-water use landscapes to more resilient, water-wise Xeriscapes. It is also the hope that bidders will be able to provide the City with a Master Plan that will enable future phases of converting high-water use landscapes to Xeriscapes. For Phase 1 of the Xeriscape plan, the City wishes to convert at total of (7) City facilities with a total area measurement of 201,063 sq. ft. Design and construction documents expected in this RFP for 2022. Actual construction would take place in 2023 based on approved budget. Phase 1 design and subsequent conversion in 2023 include the following locations (bids may include/recommend Xeriscape design all or less than whole of each area for conversion: City Hall (11,564 sf) Fire Station #1 (14,296 sf) Fire Station #2 (1,826 sf) Lafayette Public Library (60,772 sf) Lafayette Police Station (4,916 sf) Bob Burger Rec Center (51,605 sf) Indian Peaks Golf Course CLUBHOUSE (56,084 sf) The overall Master Plan will for the transformation of these landscapes that would plan, phase, and prioritize projects based on the city goals and objectives and future capital funding. A Municipal Master Plan may include the following Phases/Tasks: 1. Existing Conditions, Data Gathering, and Field Reconnaissance Field visits to each property. Base mapping (using readily available data providing by city; aerial photography, existing site improvement survey, As-builts, etc.) Prepare Baseline Data and Analysis on existing landscape typologies / zones. Prepare best practices, strategies with consideration related to soils, vegetation, irrigation, materials, installation, maintenance, etc. Development of Goals and Objectives with city staff. 2. Deliverables Prepare plants list and landscape materials (mulches, edging, accent boulders) for each landscape typology/zone. Develop Water Budgets for each landscape typology/zone. Irrigation Recommendations. Prepare diagrammatic plans for each property based on landscape typologies/zones. Prepare estimate of probable construction costs for each property. Prepare phasing and prioritization plans. Construction administration during installation by awarded contractor in 2023 3. Master Plan Report Prepare the final report upon review and approval by City staff. Two reviews prior to submittal of the final report (60%, 90%, and 100% submittals).
