The Preble County Commissioners reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids; to waive any irregularities in bidding; and to enter into a contract(s) with the bidder or bidders who in their consideration offered the lowest and best bid. Each bid must be accompanied by cashier's check or certified check issued by a responsible bank or trust company and payable to the order of the Preble County Commissioners or by a bid bond acknowledged by the bidder, as principal, and by a surety company qualified to do business in the State of Ohio and satisfactory to the owner, as surety. The cashier's check or certified check shall be in the sum of ten (10%) percent of the bid as per section 307.88 of the Ohio Revised Code. Once the bid is awarded, the successful bidder agrees to furnish a performance and payment bond for the total amount of the project. If bid is accepted, Contractor will be required to add Preble County Commission to its insurance policy as an additional insured. The bid security shall be in the sealed envelope containing the bid. Only odot pre-qualified contractors are eligible to submit bids for this project. Pre-qualification status must be in force at the time of bid, at the time of award, and through the life of the construction contract. Any contract entered into as a result of this bid shall be subject to all applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Project must use prevailing federal wage rates that are included with bid packet. Agreement included in bid packet is for informational purposes only. If bid is accepted, contractor will be expected to sign enclosed agreement. The Preble County Commissioners' Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Engineer's Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
