The contract is to deliver and fill the brine tanks with softener salt, to each location noted on EXHIBIT A, for all the water softeners on the USD campus. Contractor shall visit campus on a two-week rotation. This contract shall be based on original manufacturer guidelines for the specific equipment being serviced. For each bi-weekly service, the Contractor is expected to arrive no later than the 15th and the 30th of each month. Should these days be on a weekend, the first available Monday or Friday shall suffice. Culligan brand salt is required and to be delivered in 40-pound bags. The scope of work includes but is not limited to the following items: The Contractor shall be responsible for: 1. Provide and fill the water softener brine tanks with softener salt. 2. Perform a 10-point inspection monthly on all water softener systems. This shall include: a. Checking brine water levels b. Salt bridging c. Float assembly d. Leaks e. All Drain lines f. By-pass and check valves and exercise valves every 6 months g. Time settings on clock and clock operation h. Transformer and wiring i. Test strips for hardness indication j. Spilled salt remediation The anticipated start date shall be July 1, 2022 and shall expire 12 months later. USD reserves the option to extend the contract on a year by year basis, provided all terms and conditions remain unchanged.
