Proposed demolition and site improvements of existing New Science Hall is opposite Senior Drive, just east of the proposed building site on Riverview Drive. The proposed project will provide updated facilities for the University science curriculum, and is intended as a showpiece to complement and unify the overall campus design. Principally, the project is a new approximately 60,520 square foot 3-story Academic Science Building on the current site of parking lot #5. The building area includes a mechanical penthouse level. The new academic facility will replace the current functions of Frich Hall and New Science Hall, and will house laboratory classrooms and support spaces for the study of biology, chemistry, and physics.
