AEP requires the services of an Engineering Consultant to undertake a study to assess the geotechnical concerns and have appropriate remedial actions. The services to be provided shall include: 1. Review previous studies, information, drawings, and technical reports including construction records, any previous geotechnical investigations, structural design and geological, structural assessments of headworks. 2. Conduct a site visit, as necessary, to familiarize, assess site conditions and plan for geotechnical investigations. 3. Conduct any necessary site investigations of the sub-surface conditions for the headgate structure. The site investigation should include but not limited to borehole drilling, soil testing, video inspection of drainage system, and any other destructive, non-destructive and laboratory testing deemed suitable by the proponent. As a part of the study include the cost of the following: a. 4 boreholes drilling and necessary soil logging and necessary testing b. Supply and install 4 piezometers c. Video camera drain inspections d. Establish a joint monitoring program (including supply and installation joint meters) 4. Assess the structural condition and integrity of the headgates structure considering information from the geotechnical investigation and recommend the course of actions and timeline for implementation for the proposed repairs and replacement of the structures.
