The City has approved capital money to improve the sidewalk conditions throughout the City. The 5 companies listed here: D'Ambra Construction Company, Inc., Pawtucket Hot Mix Asphalt, Inc., Narragansett Improvement Company, Cardi Corporation and Hartford Paving Corporation have been deemed pre-qualified during for the above project and the City now requests a cost proposal to perform the work. The work includes sidewalk improvements to both hot mix asphalt as well as cement concrete sidewalks, installation of handicap ramps, handicap ramp improvements and upgrades, as well as new installation of curbing and sidewalks. Work areas include Pawtucket Avenue from the High School/Senior Center to Veteran's Memorial Parkway, around the Agnes B. Hennessey School, First Street near Mauran Avenue and around Emma G. Whiteknact School. The City of East Providence seeks experienced vendors to provide safe pedestrian friendly sidewalks as well as install new sidewalks around schools to enhance student access to schools.
