The Massachusetts Port Authority (the "Authority" or "Massport") is the owner and operator of Worcester Regional Airport ("Worcester Airport"). Worcester Airport is located in the heart of Central Massachusetts and lies within the City of Worcester and the Town of Leicester. The economic impact of Worcester Airport was estimated to be $96.9 million in 2019 by Massachusetts Department of Transportation's airport economic impact study. Worcester Airport covers an area of 1,300 acres and has two runways; Runway 11/29, which is 7000 feet long and Runway 15/33, which is 5000 feet long. Fixed Base Operator services are provided by Ross Aviation, providing upscale ground handling services to airlines and aircraft operators. Worcester Airport employs 300 people including those at Ross Aviation, 4 rental car companies, the FAA, TSA and the airlines. JetBlue, American Airlines and Delta Airlines provide scheduled flights to Florida and New York. The Authority is seeking information, through this Request for Proposals ("RFP") on potential airside aeronautical development, and potential redevelopment of existing uses and facilities that would enhance the airport's operational capabilities and economic impact. The airside opportunities, as shown on the Site Plan, Attachment A Aeronautical Development Area, consist of two sites; approximately 18 acres and 3 acres and are intended for aeronautical development consistent with Worcester's role as a general aviation facility. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
