Remodeling of an educational facility in Murray, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the remodel of a 153,342-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.

This project includes renovation of the Curris Center on all existing floors including the following: Restrooms, Lobbies, Welcome Center, Student Involvement Offices, Conference Rooms, and Esports spaces. Seven Alternates are also included as follows: Alternate 1 - Additional Painting as shown on documents Alternate 2 - Provide Fire Alarm per specification Alternate 3 - HVAC Controls per specification Alternate 4 - Flush Valves by Sloan Flush Valves Alternate 5 - Conference rooms 310A and 310B Alternate 6 - Commonwealth Suite, Rooms 300E, 308 and 309 Alternate 7 - Provide Delaney Ball Valves Questions about obtaining plans and specifications may be directed to Beth Ward @ lward10@murraystate.edu. Bids will be received from contractors on a Lump Sum Amount for the total project. All phases of the work shall be submitted in the manner herein described and on the official proposal form included with the conditions and specifications and shall be subject to all the conditions as set forth and described in the Bid Documents. Bids shall be submitted only on the Official Forms supplied by Murray State University, Procurement Services. Failure to comply with the foregoing requirements will be cause for invalidation of bid. Final award of Contract will be made on an evaluated basis considering the offer that provides the best value for the University considering the following factors: Price - 60% - Phase II Submittal The overall price for the base bid and all selected alternates will be considered. Due to the nature of the project, Murray State University reserves the right to accept alternates in any order that it deems to be in the best interest of the University Experience of the Firm and Team proposed - 40% - Phase I Submittal The submitting Contractors shall demonstrate their firm's respective experience with similar project types, to include experiences with the Owner if any, in addition to contact information identified per listed project. Projects shall be of similar project type, construction type, and scope within the last ten years. Please provide a minimum of two references. Bidders should also provide information for each similar project demonstrating the number and type of change orders required for each project and schedule adherence to the original agreed schedule. (a maximum of 20 points will be awarded for experience and references) Substantial completion is 420 days from project start date. Final Completion is 450 days from project start date. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Phase I Submittal consisting of the experience of the firm, references and the proposed team must be submitted by: July 11, 2022 AT NOON - CENTRAL PREVAILING TIME Phase II Submittal - Form of Proposal with Pricing must be submitted by: July 12, 2022 AT 2:00 PM _CENTRAL PREVAILING TIME Murray State University is committed to increasing the participation of minority business enterprises in construction and renovation projects, and encourages the use of minority subcontractors and material suppliers. All contractors should make an effort to locate and use minority business enterprises in bidding this project. For assistance in identifying minority vendors and subcontractors, the contractors may contact the Kentucky Office of Minority Business Enterprises, 2329 Capital Plaza Tower, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601, Telephone no. (270) 564-2064 and Louisville Minority Business Development Center, 611 W. Main Street, Louisville Kentucky 40202, ATTN: Mr. Darnell Jackson Bidders using minority enterprises as subcontractors and material suppliers are requested to identify these contractors in the space provided on the Form of Proposal. The successful contractor will be asked to supply associated contract amounts rounded to the nearest $500.00 prior to the signing of a contract. Murray State University, Procurement Services, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the University may be served.
