Renovation of a municipal facility in Hamilton, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The goal of this Request for Prequalification (RFPQ) is to pre-qualify general contractors for the Request for Tenders (RFT) for the repair of the Kenora Transfer Station (KTS), located at 460 Kenora Avenue. The Project includes the following scope of work: - Removal and replacement of the existing reinforced concrete on the west tipping floor (approximately 465 sq m) - This task will include approximately 400 sq m of full depth floor slab removal and 65 square meters of removal with chipping hammers to salvage the existing reinforcing steel - The existing floor slab is 200mm thick - After removal of the existing slab on grade, the general contractor will proof roll the subgrade in the presence of a geotechnical engineer. Any soft spots identified will need to be excavated and replaced with either engineered fill or fill concrete - Repairing the curved push wall in the northeast corner of the west tipping floor - Approximate removal and repair area is 3m tall by 4m long - Removal of the rails that are cast into the flooring for the west bottom rolling doors (since the rolling doors have been removed) - Removal and replacement of existing bollards - Removal and replacement of an existing concrete knee wall (7.4m long x 1.2m tall x 0.305m thick) Estimated Start of Construction: Approximately mid-October, 2022.
