The El Camino Real sewer main improvement work shall consist of replacing and installing new sewer mains in the City of Burlingame. Approximately 670 linear feet of new 12-inch, 925 linear feet of new 10- inch, and 2,063 linear feet of new 8-inch High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) sewer main will be installed along El Camino Real with tie-ins at the intersections ofTrousdale Dr., Ray Dr., Albemarle Way, Westmoor Rd., Sherman Ave., Broadway, Sanchez Ave., Edgehill Dr., Forest View Ave., Palm Dr., Arc Way, and Willow Ave. The construction method is anticipated to be pipe-bursting with portions of conventional open trench and spot repair. One existing manhole will be abandoned, one new manhole will be installed, and one existing manhole will be brought to grade. Approximately 25 existing sewer laterals will be removed, replaced, and reconnected to the new main. Miscellaneous concrete work will be performed as needed and will consist of approximately 400 square feet of concrete sidewalk. Minor asphalt work for pavement restoration, traffic control, and temporary bypass pumping will also be required. The Adeline Drive water main improvements work shall consist of replacing and installing a new water main in the City ofBurlingame. Approximately 390 linear feet of new 6-inch Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP) water main will be installed along El Camino Real with tie-ins at the intersection of Adeline Dr. The water main will typically be installed at three-and-a-halffeet minimum cover in the Caltrans right ofway and three feet minimum cover within Burlingame right of way. One fire hydrant assembly will be installed. The new water main consists of twelve 6-inch fittings and thrust blocks, two 6-inch gate valves, and removing one existing blow off valve. Miscellaneous concrete work will be performed as needed and will consist of approximately 40 square feet of concrete sidewalk and 10 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter. Minor asphalt work for pavement restoration, traffic control, and temporary bypass pumping will also be required. The work along El Camino Real is within the Caltrans right-of-way. Therefore, the project does require coordinating with Caltrans for traffic control, obtaining all the necessary permits for construction, and adhering to all the Caltrans right-of-way requirements, including, but not limited to, the 2018 Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications and these special provisions. The City is applying for a Caltrans encroachment permit. The contractor will be required to apply for a rider permit and adhere to all the requirements of said rider permit. Special Provisions, Specifications and Plans, including prevailing wage rates to be paid in compliance with Section 1773.2 of the California Labor Code and related provisions, may be inspected in the office of the City Engineer during normal working hours at City Hall, 501 Primrose Road, Burlingame, California, and are also available for review at the State of California Department of Industrial Relations' Web site. The Contractor shall possess a Class A license prior to submitting a bid. No contractors and subcontractor may be listed on the bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.5(a)]. All contractors and subcontractors will be required to furnish electronic certified payroll records directly to the Labor Commissioner (aka Division of Labor Standards Enforcement). All work specified in this project, shall include the base bid and alternate bids (if shown in Proposal), and shall be completed within 110 of Working Days (WD) (one hundred ten working days) from date of the Notice to Proceed.
