The Amity School District Is Seeking to Select Architects to Provide the Services Described Herein Design Services for the Following Schools: o Amity High School o Amity Elementary School Project Descriptions: the Primary Scope of Work Is an Addition and Remodel at the Existing Amity High School to Relocate the Existing Amity Middle School and Possibly Abandon the Current Middle School Site. The Scope of Work Will Add Student Capacity for Amity School District to Alleviate Capacity Pressure on Amity Elementary School by Adding the Fifth Grade to the Middle School. The District Is Interested in Creating the New Middle School on the Existing High School Site Resulting in a Shared-use Facility. The Scope of the Middle School Replacement Will Include Renovation of Existing High School Spaces as Well as Additional Square Footage. All Displaced High School Programs Will Need to Be Accounted for Within the New/renovated High School Facilities. The New Middle School Scope May Include Eight New Classrooms at the High School Site as Well as Renovated Science, Gymnasium, and Classroom Spaces. An Assessment of Existing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Systems Will Need Further Study to Determine the Extent of Systems Replacements Required. All Amity High School Programs Displaced by the Middle School Addition Will Need to Be Relocated to the Newly Designated High School Portion of the Site. The Work May Include a New Competition Gymnasium With Associated Locker Rooms and Team Room, a New Library, New Art and Science Classrooms, as Well as Some New General Education Classroom Spaces. The Existing Amity Elementary School Will Be Getting New Security Updates Potentially, Including but Not Limited to Door Access Controls and a Secured Vestibule at the Front Entry.
