UPDATE The water filtration system at the Water Treatment Plant consists of eight filter beds, each holding approximately 66,000 pounds of granular activated carbon (GAC). The FY26 funding replaces the GAC in two units, with an additional two units being replaced each year thereafter, in perpetuity. This will allow for the recommended in-service life from the carbon while staying in compliance with the life-cycle requirements.
