Phase 5 of the Basement Flooding Protection Program (BF5). The scope includes storm drainage improvement Projects, which may include, but not be limited to: sanitary sewer upgrades, combined sewer upgrades, storm sewer upgrades, new storm or sanitary system infrastructure, trunk sewer upgrades, separation of CSO system through installation of new storm sewer systems, watercourse adjustment and restoration, in-line and off-line storage and box culverts, catch basin inlet controls, outfall/outlet control structures, stormwater management facilities (i.e. ponds, wetlands, tanks and tunnels) and other associated municipal infrastructure work and appurtenances. The works may also include road resurfacing and/or reconstruction, road and boulevard component restoration and/or reconstruction, road safety improvements, construction of sidewalk and other public realm improvements, watermain replacement, lateral services replacements (sewers and water), and utilities relocation works. The approximate timeline for this Program is expected to be eight (8) years plus post construction services during the two-year warranty period for each construction contract, for a total of ten (10) years. As of July 2023 the funds allocated within Toronto Water 2023 Capital Budget and 2024-2032 Capital Plan for this project have been adjusted.
The Consultants were awarded through a Request For Proposals that closed spring 2022 to complete Basement Flooding Protection Program (BFPP) Assignments for Phase 5 of the Basement Flooding Protection Program (BF5) including Program and project management services, EA studies review, and preliminary and detailed engineering design.
Further project schedules are anticipated in 2025 pending capital funding approvals. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
