As of October 11, 2023, this RFQ was cancelled. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Burke County is soliciting qualifications statements from firms interested in providing full service architectural / engineering design services required to design and construct a new EMS Station. All inquiries for information concerning the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) shall be emailed to: brian.nieft@burkenc.org All questions regarding this RFQ will be due by 5:00pm on Monday, July 11, 2022. All answers will be issued in one single addendum posted on the Burke County Website. Any questions after this date will not be addressed. The selected firm should be prepared to have complete drawings and specifications for bidding and permitting for the new EMS station, ready for submission for all applicable permits and authorizations within 90 calendar days of being given notice to proceed by the county To be considered for selection, the firm shall be qualified and capable to provide the necessary professional services associated with project tasks and conformance with local, state, and federal requirements listed herein. The County is planning to build a new EMS Station on approximately 4 acres. The following is a general description of the tasks required. This is not intended to be all inclusive, nor is it guaranteed that all the below tasks will be utilized. A more detailed Scope of Work will be developed during negotiation with the selected firm. (1) Survey and evaluate property for project development, property is currently a wooded area so site prep work will be required. (2) Develop a design for an EMS station that will need to include the following features: (a) One level (b) 6 ambulance bays (c) 6 offices (d) 5 sleeping quarters (e) Station design to accommodate 14 personnel (f) Training room to accommodate 30 (g) Storage spaces with access to loading dock NOTE: Listed features are meant as general guidance, building specifics will be developed once a firm is selected. (3) Provide assistance during the construction bidding process to include participation in the pre-bid conference, assisting with replying to requests for information, assisting with bid evaluation, and possibly issuing a recommendation for award. (4) Provide assistance with construction administration by aiding with review of project progress (inspections), certification of contractor requests for payment, and preparation of pre-final and final punch lists and project closeout. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
