The contract will be for cutting, baling, and removing hay from designated areas of City property. The designated areas equate to approximately 80 acres combined; two figures have been included for reference. Approximately 60 acres of the designated hay area consists of past landfill disposal sites that have been closed in accordance with regulations set forth by North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality. The winning bidder will be responsible for complying with all applicable State and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. The winning bidder will also be responsible for any damage incurred to the property. This includes, but is not limited to; groundwater-monitoring wells, gas vents, fences, drainage ditches, and surface damage such as ruts left by equipment. The winning bidder will be responsible for completing haying operations on all of the designated haying areas. Interested parties are encouraged to view the designated hay areas prior to submitting a bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide a series of bale counts to the City of Minot Sanitation/Landfill Superintendent. Payment will be made within 30 days after final bale removal for the season. The City of Minot reserves the right to perform independent bale counts.
