PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) is seeking proposals from qualified Vendors to provide custodial floor tech services for buildings across all campus locations. This document sets forth the general specifications, requirements, and responsibilities for a Contractor to provide a service contract for custodial floor tech services. All services will be performed to the highest standard of service and in accordance with all Federal, State and local laws. The Contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all personnel will be familiar with and accomplishes the functions and tasks as outlined in the scope of Work and does so in a manner consistent with industry standards. It is agreed that the Contractor will be familiar with all conditions, physical and otherwise, existing at the site of the work and all other matters in connection with the work to be performed under this contract. The base bid buildings consist of approximately 1,258,245 gross square feet of cleanable floors. These spaces include but are not limited to academic, laboratory, office, classroom, shop, meeting room, theatre, and conference hall space. The intent of this solicitation is to award an Agency Contract. CONTRACT TERM The Contract shall have an initial term of one (1) year, beginning on the "Effective Date". The Vendor shall begin work under the Contract within five (5) business days of the Effective Date. At the end of the Contract's current term, the State shall have the option, in its sole discretion, to renew the Contract on the same terms and conditions for up to a total of two (2) additional one-year terms. The State will give the Vendor written notice of its intent to exercise each option no later than 90 days before the end of the Contract's then-current term. In addition to any optional terms, and with the Vendor's concurrence, the State reserves the right to extend a contract term after the last active term.
