The Virginia Department of Transportation herein referred to as "VDOT" is soliciting bids from interested firms to provide the necessary equipment, personnel, supervision and traffic control to perform tree, brush and debris removal services along I-64. Work shall be performed at various locations between mile marker 173 and mile marker 121 located in Albemarle, Fluvanna, Goochland and Louisa Counties, in accordance with the performance specifications herein. QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS INVITATION FOR BID: Any questions regarding this solicitation shall be addressed to Mrs. Kimberly Palmer at Kimberly.Palmer@VDOT.Virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters. Provide questions by 5:00pm July 11, 2022. Site Visit: A VDOT led site visit is not scheduled. Bidders must conduct their own site visit. Location of Vegetation Removal Zones have been identified by painted arrows on the West Bound right shoulder. Bidders are encouraged to inspect the work sites and submit questions prior to the pre-bid meeting. Bidders are encouraged to submit questions in writing to the Contract Officer no later than three days prior to the bid meeting. Scope Of Work: The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, fuel, traffic control (per the most recent version of the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual) and any other incidentals necessary to meet the requirements of the performance specifications stated within. The work shall consist of tree, brush and debris removal per the requirements in this Invitation For Bid. The Contractor shall be capable of commencing work within ten (10) calendar days after the contract is awarded. Work in each LOT shall be executed in the order in which segments are listed on the price sheet.
