Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Brentwood, California. Working plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field.
As of June 12, 2024, construction documents are complete. The owner states that they are currently in the environmental review process. The project is anticipated to bid in mid-late Summer 2024 and start construction in Fall 2024. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. ……………….. The City of Brentwood ("City") invites qualified architectural /landscape design firms to submit a statement of qualifications for the preliminary planning, design, preparation of construction documents and bidding support for the Sand Creek Sports Complex Project ("Project"). The Project will be located on approximately 33 acres on the northwest corner of Sand Creek Road and Fairview Avenue. Sand Creek Sports Complex Phase I consists of the design and construction of the 14.48 acres of City-owned property and is anticipated that it will include up to 2-3 full-size lighted sports fields (soccer/multi-use to be determined, preferably with artificial turf), parking lot, restrooms, storage building, picnic areas and other possible park amenities like pickleball courts, outdoor exercise equipment, playground, shade elements, etc. Phase II is made up of the Contra Costa County Flood Control detention basin, which consists of 19.24 acres that will potentially add 2-3 additional natural turf sports fields. The City has a total budget of $15M for the construction of the Sand Creek Sports Complex. An essential part of this project is for the Consultant to facilitate public presentations/workshops and to collect input from the public and stakeholders to come up with 30% landscape and civil improvements. Once a preliminary design has been selected by the City, and before a final design has been approved, the City will select an environmental consultant to prepare CEQA compliance documents to ensure that all environmental concerns are quantified and mitigated for the Project. Following approval of CEQA documents, the Consultant will complete the Detailed Final Design as described further in the RFQ and ultimately prepare final Plans, Technical Specifications, Cost Estimates and input on the Bid Schedule. Questions should be emailed to ParksAndRecreation@brentwoodca.gov to the attention of Tammy Homan no later than September 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. Answers to questions will be shared with all firms that have obtained the RFQ document and will be posted on the City's website. To ensure receipt of notifications regarding this RFQ, and to have the SOQ considered valid, this document must be obtained directly from the City. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
