Site work for a water / sewer project in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The work includes, but is not limited to, maintenance dredging of sediment from an 875 foot length of the Himmarshee Canal. The project area is the 30-feet center of the canal from the SE 8th Avenue Bridge east to the bend in the canal at SE 10th Terrace as shown on the plans. The width of the Himmarshee Canal is approximately 50 feet. The north and south banks of the canal are partially hardened and partially vegetated with Mangroves and other trees. T-Docks, marginal docks, watercraft and electrical utility lines are also present. There are subaqueous utility crossings in the project area. See Detailed Specifications for more information. This project is located along the Himmarshee Canal the between SE 8th Ave. and SE 11th Ave, Section 11, Township 50 South, Range 42 East, in the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This project involves the dredging of a 1.0-acre area to a maximum depth of minus 6.88 feet NAVD 88. Approximately 2,000 cubic yards of material shall be removed and transported to an upland disposal site. This license does not authorize impacts to any natural resources. Q & A deadline: Jul 15, 2022 5:00:00 PM EDT The City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida (City) is seeking bids from qualified bidders, for dredging services in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this Invitation To Bid (ITB). Anyone requesting assistance or having further inquiry in this matter must contact the Procurement Specialist indicated on the solicitation, via the Question and Answer (Q&A) platform on online before the Last Day for Questions indicated in the Solicitation. This Project is located in the Himmarshee Canal, in the City of Fort Lauderdale. The work to be accomplished shall adhere to the Himmarshee Canal Maintenance Dredging Plans and permit conditions (attached). The general description of the work is as follows: The work includes, but is not limited to, maintenance dredging of sediment from an 875 foot length of the Himmarshee Canal. Drawing Plans: This Project consists of a Drawing File containing seven (7) sheets. Licensing Requirements: Possession of any of the following licenses is required for this Project. Dredging Contractor's License issued by the appropriate County within Florida OR A General Contractor's License issued by the State of Florida OR An Underground and Utility Excavation Contractors License issued by the State of Florida See Special Conditions for details. NOTE: Payment on this contract will be made by Visa or MasterCard. While attendance is not mandatory, it is strongly suggested that all contractors attend the pre-bid conference. It will be the sole responsibility of the bidder to inspect the City's location and become familiar with the scope of the City's requirements and systems prior to submitting a proposal. No variation in price or conditions shall be permitted based upon a claim of ignorance. Submission of a proposal will be considered evidence that the proposer has familiarized himself with the nature and extent of the work, equipment, materials, and labor required. Bid Security : A certified check, cashier's check, bank officer's check or bid bond for FIVE percent (5%) of the bid amount, made payable to the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, shall accompany each offer. Bid Bonds: Bidders can submit bid bonds for projects four different ways. 1) online allows bidders to submit bid bonds electronically directly through their system using Surety 2000. For more information on this feature and to access it, contact online customer care department. 2) Bidders may upload their original executed bid bond on online to accompany their electronic bids and deliver the original, signed and sealed hard copy within five (5) business days after bid opening, with the company name, bid number and title clearly indicated. 3) Bidders can hand deliver their bid bond in a sealed envelope to the Finance Department, Procurement Services Division, 100 North Andrews Avenue, Room 619, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301-1016, before time of bid opening, with the company name, bid number and title clearly indicated on the envelope. 4) Bidders can mail their bid bond to the Finance Department, Procurement Services Division, 100 North Andrews Avenue, Room 619, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301-1016, before time of bid opening, with the company name, bid number and title clearly indicated on the envelope. NOTE: Bond must be received in Procurement and time stamped before bid opening. It will be the sole responsibility of the bidder to ensure that his bid is submitted prior to the bid opening date and time listed. PAPER BID SUBMITTALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Certified Checks, Cashier's Checks and Bank Drafts : These CANNOT be submitted via online, nor are their images allowed to be uploaded and submitted with your electronic bid. These forms of securities, as well as hard copy bid bonds, must be received on or before the Invitation to Bid (ITB) opening date and time, at the Finance Department, Procurement Services Division, 100 North Andrews Avenue, Room 619, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301-1016, with the bid number and title clearly indicated on the envelope. It is the bidder's sole responsibility to ensure that his bid bond or other bid security is received by the Procurement Services Division before time of bid opening. Failure to adhere to this requirement may be grounds to consider the bid as non-responsive. The City of Fort Lauderdale reserves the right to waive any informality in any or all bids and to reject any or all bids. evidence that the bidder has familiarized himself with the nature and extent of the work, equipment, materials, and labor required. The entire bid response must be submitted in accordance with all specifications contained in this solicitation.
