Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Los Angeles, California. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a 3,300-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
UCLA requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select an Executive Architect for the proposed 200 Medical Plaza Blood Draw Expansion (UCLA Project 908049). UCLA Health proposes to select an architect to plan a renovation of approximately 3,300 SF in the Peter Morton Medical Building (200 Medical Plaza) to accommodate the expansion of the Blood Draw Clinic. The renovated suite would provide additional blood draw bays, storage, support offices, and administration cubicles. Responses to this RFQ should demonstrate familiarity and experience in designing, planning, and constructing medical office suites and blood draw bays, including Department of Public Health requirements (Title 22) and Department of Health Care Access and Information requirements for an HCAI 3 Clinic. The specific personnel proposed for assignment to this project must demonstrate experience in these areas. Mechanical systems analysis of the existing building infrastructure shall be included in the pre-design study phase to ensure the projected design loads can be supported. The project is subject to review and approval by the UC Board of Regents or their delegated authority. This RFQ is for full design services comprising architectural basic services, including schematic design, design development, interiors package, construction documents, cost estimate, assistance during bid/award phase, construction administration, record documents, and project closeout for the 200 Medical Plaza Blood Draw Clinic Expansion. However, the University reserves the right to defer negotiations concerning services other than the pre-design study until the completion of the pre-design phase. The construction cost for the project has not yet been determined and will be dependent upon the potential phasing of the project. The work may be executed as several incremental projects. The project s construction cost is anticipated to be in the range of $1 to $3 million, depending on the agreed-upon scope of work. The University reserves the right to defer negotiations concerning services other than pre-design studies until the completion of the pre-design phase. The design shall comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices to achieve a minimum LEED Healthcare Silver Rating. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
