For a proposed public improvement project to be known as Sports Complex - Convert to Farmland described as site clearing and associated work to convert the site to farmland and located at the Eastern Iowa Airport, Cedar Rapids, Iowa The Work generally consists of clearing and grubbing, demolition of building and miscellaneous structures, fence removal, electrical demolition and relocation, seeding, fertilizing and mulching. Bid security in the amount of Five percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder shall be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price. Bid security and other bonds shall be provided on forms furnished by the Owner. All project work shall be substantially completed within the stated timeframe. This project is subject to liquidated damages as prescribed within the project manual. The Cedar Rapids Airport Commission anticipates the Notice-to-Proceed to be issued no earlier than August 1, 2022, following approval of properly executed contract documents, and has established a contract performance time, from the date indicated in the Notice-to-Proceed of: Tree Cutting: October 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 Project Complete by: April 14, 2023 The bidder should not include sales tax in the bid. Items included in the Project are exempt from State of Iowa and Local Option Sales and Use Taxes. Contractor is responsible for obtaining the exemption or for applying for reimbursement for such taxes paid. The successful bidder will be required to submit a Certification of Non-segregated Facilities and to notify prospective subcontractors of the requirement for such certification where the subcontract exceeds $10,000.00. The Cedar Rapids Airport Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, with or without cause; to waive any informalities and technicalities; to enter such contracts as it deems in the best interest of the Cedar Rapids Airport Commission; and to re-advertise. The Cedar Rapids Airport Commission reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for 30 calendar days after the bids are received and opened.
