A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The project includes constructing a new 6' wide sidewalk behind the existing granite curbing on a portion of the westerly sideline of Broadway and reconstruction a portion of existing sidewalk on the easterly sideline of Broadway from Husson Avenue to Grandview Avenue in Bangor, and other incidental work, including resetting curb, adding A crosswalk and pedestrian signals at the intersection of Grandview Avenue and Broadway. The Broadway Pedestrian Improvements Project is a Maine Federal Aid Project No. 2561700, MeDOT WIN 25617.00, located on Broadway beginning just north of Husson Avenue and extending northerly to Grandview Avenue for a total of 0.13 miles. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid price will be required in the form of cash, a certified check or bid bond. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids or to waive informalities or defects in bids if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bangor. Bases of award of Contract is determined by the lowest qualified bidder. The lowest bidder must have successfully completed a Highway, or project specific prequalification for Bangor to be considered for the award of this contract. Description of Work The work contemplated under the terms of this contract consists of the following general items of work: o Excavate existing material, place fill and new gravel where needed and pave with 2 inches of 9.5mm HMA pavement, as shown on the plans. o Remove and reset or place curbing as shown on the plans. o Install new pedestrian signals and signs to provide new crosswalks at intersection. o Provide new ADA compliant detectable warning fields (sidewalk ramps) as shown on the plans. o Perform other work as shown on the plans, such as, loam and seed, etc..
